La Palma

Located in the Canary Islands, La Palma is most famously home to the Caldera de Taburiente.

The caldera, Spanish for cauldron, is a volcano that stands almost 4 miles (7 km) tall!

It has had 7 eruptions in recorded history, the most recent being in 1971.

Why did the clouds form around the volcano?

How did the island form?
